Brighton After Dark Ukulele Session is (you guessed it!) an eveing session for ukulele players around Brighton. We meet on the 4th Tuesday of the month at The Walmer Castle on Queens Park Road in Hanover.
We're on the move! From June we'll be holding the sessions in the
back room of the Hanover pub - Still on Queens Park Road but farther north.
We'll also be starting ealier and so people who are at work the next day can
enjoy a strum.
Our gallery will be assembled as we get some photos
We play is a mixture of pop folk, punk, country, alternative, - in fact, anything that sounds good on a ukulele (and some that don't!). - As the name suggests; songs of 'bad' people/things/events and songs about the night and darkness -in the broadest possible sense- are welcome.
If you play the uke or even if you haven't played much, or at all but want to try, just come along and have a go. If you just want to play along with others - fine, come and join the growing number of uke players around Brighton. If you want other people to strum and/or sing along with a song you've learnt then bring a few copies to share round. If you have a song or tune you want to try then this is the place to air it, there’s no stage, lights, mikes or anything intimidating, just a group of us sitting in the pub.
What does it cost?
Nothing, just bring a ukulele along and some songs if you have them.
The Walmer Castle, Brighton. 4the Tuesday of the month. 8.30pm
